Denkmal exhibition: Russia and Germany cooperation agreement

On April 22, 2021, with the support of the Government of Moscow, a cooperation agreement was signed between the National Committee of ICOMOS, Russia and LMI - Leipziger Messe International.

Both parties agreed to join forces for the successful holding of the VI International Specialized Exhibition for Restoration, Protection, Modern Use of Cultural Heritage Objects and Museum Technologies "denkmal, Russia - Moscow". The exhibition will be held in Moscow from October 21 to 23, 2021, in the Gostinyy Dvor exhibition center.

The agreement was signed by Leonid Kondrashev, President of ICOMOS, Russia and Markus Heisenberger, General Director of LMI - Leipziger Messe International. The parties agreed to focus their further efforts on expanding cooperation between Russia and Germany in the sphere of cultural heritage preservation.

The official ceremony was attended by:

• Thomas Schmidt - Minister of Regional Development, Housing and Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of the State of Saxony
• Yulia Loginova - Deputy Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the City of Moscow, as well as representatives of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow and the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.

The agreement signing became a starting point of the event calendar of the "denkmal, Russia - Moscow" exhibition. The event has been held in Moscow every two years since 2011 and is based on the experience of the Leipzig Fair.
